HAPPY NEW YEAR

As I reflect on 2016, I have to say it has been a very satisfying year for me as an author. My new book, A Perilous Question, was released in May and won an award as the best crime novel in the e-book category shortly after. There were many book signings and new experiences in this new (to me) world of writing and publishing. I say they were new experiences even though A Perilous Question was my fourth book. I’m learning the business as I go, but I quickly discovered that of everything that revolves around  writing and publishing, the most satisfying is knowing that there are people out there reading and enjoying your books. Thank you very much to all of you and have a wonderful 2017.

News

There are some interesting things coming down the road in time for Christmas. First, I will be signing my books at Walter Baker Arena, 100 Malvern Dr., Nepean, Ontario on December 10 as part of a Christmas Craft Sale. The time is 10 – 4.

As a cyber treat, I Guess We Missed the Boat will be available for download for only .99 the week of November 28. If you don’t have a copy yet, this is your chance to grab one for almost nothing.

Speaking of for nothing, the cover for A Perilous Question has changed and as a Christmas gift to readers of my books, it will be available free on Kindle for a few hours on December 8. Get it while you can.

More treats will follow. Stay tuned.

MIDWEST BOOK REVIEW

The July issue of the online book review magazine “Small Press Bookwatch” features a review of “A Perilous Question”.

“Impressively well written and a consistently compelling thriller of a read from beginning to end, “A Perilous Question” showcases author Barry Finlay’s exceptional talents as an original and gifted storyteller who is able to keep his reader’s riveted attention from first page to last. While very highly recommended for community library General Fiction collections, it should be noted for personal reading lists that “A Perilous Question” is also available in a Kindle edition ($3.99).”
